Gift cards for all plans and customers

Give customers a way to support you now, while freeing up cash flow by offering gift cards. We’re making physical and digital gift cards available on all new and existing Shopify plans.

Local pickup and delivery

Flatten the curve, while getting products into the hands of your local customers. If you can drop off orders, create a local delivery option only visible to customers who live in that zone. Brick and mortar retailers using Shopify POS will have the opportunity to offer customers in-store/curb-side pick up for online orders.

General help and support

Is Shopify prepared for COVID-19?

Yes. We do not foresee any impact on critical systems, teams, and infrastructure or our ability to support our merchants and partners. Our first priority is keeping your business up and running.

How do I get in touch with Shopify for help?

I’m a small business that’s affected by COVID-19. Where can I find more resources?

Can I sell gift cards on my Shopify store?

Shopify has made gift cards available on all Shopify subscription plans. Learn about how gift cards can help your business.

I’m thinking about opening a new store. How long will my trial be?

We’re offering a three-month (90-day) free trial to start selling with Shopify. If you’re currently on a 14-day trial, you’ll be able to extend it for a full 90 days.

How long will I have to take advantage of the extended free trial?

We’re offering an extended 90-day free trial for new sign-ups in response to the economic difficulties introduced by COVID-19. As we don’t know when the virus will be contained, we aren’t giving an end date to this offer. This page will stay updated with the latest information.

In-person selling

I sell in person but I can’t have customers in my store right now. What tools are available for me during this time?

We know you’re shifting your priorities to address the most pressing issues. This guide details how you can ease cash flow constraints, re-allocate marketing spend, and move your sales online to mitigate a decline in foot traffic. Also, if you’re using Shopify POS at your brick-and-mortar location you can provide customers with in-store or curbside pickup for online orders starting next week. Shopify POS is no extra charge, so you won’t have to make any changes to your plan.

Capital and loans

Am I able to access Shopify Capital?

If you’re currently in the United States or the United Kingdom, and eligible for Shopify Capital, you’ll receive an email and a message in your Shopify admin inviting you to view your funding offers. We’re working as fast as possible to make our Shopify Capital offerings available in more affected regions. Read more about Shopify Capital.

Can I delay remittance of my merchant cash advance?

Your remittance isn’t on a fixed timeline or dollar amount. A percentage of your sales will be remitted daily from your Shopify account until your total remit is completely paid back. Learn more about cash advances.

Can I delay repayment of my merchant loan?

Repayment of a Shopify Capital loan will remain the same. The 12-month term is divided into six 60-day repayment cycles called milestones. Learn more about Shopify Capital repayment.

Billing and payments

Can I pause my Shopify store during this time?

Yes. If you decide to pause your Shopify store at this time, your information will be stored for 90 days, and can be restored once you decide to re-open.

Am I able to change/downgrade my payment plan during this time?

Yes, of course. Whatever is best for your business. We’re here to help, and you can contact us anytime.
