In his first keynote in front of public-market investors, Spiegel made sure bankers understood Snapchat's growth trajectory as it fleshes out its advertising business before being listed as a public company.

Snapchat made a deal with Viacom that allows the media company to sell ads on Snapchat's behalf. 

Recently, Snapchat raised a round of funding at a $16 billion valuation.

In a blog post published on Monday evening, Christopher "Moot" Poole announced he'd be joining the team at Google.

"I can’t wait to contribute my own experience from a dozen years of building online communities, and to begin the next chapter of my career at such an incredible company." he wrote on his personal blog.

 

Bradley Horowitz, confirmed the news on his Google+ page.

Google hired Poole to take advantage of his 12 years of experience "building online communities" – but it's not clear yet what project he'll be working on in particular.

This recent hire comes shortly after Poole sold 4chan to Hiroyuki Nishimura, 2channel's founder and the current editor in chief for Variety Japan.

With that hype, a new website emerged just yesterday called Botlist, which is an app store for bots.

Facebook is reportedly planning to unveil a bot app store at F8 today, and Microsoft has shown the use of bots in Skype – so it's clear that this is a smart play by the team at Botlist to get first-mover advantage in the space.

It’s important to note, however, that while Botlist is still new, it boasts a whopping 400+ bots in its "store".

Handshake Wholesale App Raises $14M to Propel Its International Growth

Handshake, the emerging leader in B2B commerce technology for manufacturers and distributors, today announced it successfully closed its $14 million Series B financing led by Sozo Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm focused on helping U.S.-based startups expand globally.

 

This round of funding brings their total to $23.5M raised, to try and bring the laggard industry of order wholesales to the digital age.

Founded in 2010, Handshake started out by working with small and medium sized businesses, but has since moved into a more enterprise-focused area working with companies like Bugaboo and Roland. These bigger companies have more complex needs when it comes to wholesale, so Handshake aims to offer them a simplistic but powerful tool.

Google Looks to AMP Up Mobile Browsing Speeds

feature Google and other tech giants joined together last October to create the Accelerated Mobile Pages Project (AMP for short), an open source initiative to make the mobile web as fast as possible.

Today, Google announced that they're going to make it easy to find AMP webpages in relevant mobile search results, giving you a lightning-fast reading experience for top stories.

Much like Facebook's Instant Articles initiative, AMP is solely available to those on mobile devices. However, Google is open to other platforms; Twitter and LinkedIn have signed on to the project. Google also doesn’t host the content directly – whereas Facebook does.
